Show Young Mother Loses Life in Auto Crash Involving Former Residents Wilford Mower, former well-known Springville Spring-ville man, who has been teaching and coaching in Wyoming high schools for a number of years, was seriously injured early Sunday evening in a traffic accident ac-cident in which his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert Mower, 22, was fatally injured. The Mower family, including Mr. Mower's wife, Winnie, their son Gregg and Mrs. Robert Mower and their six-months-old daughter were returning from a picnic area at Pinedale, Wyo. where they had visited Robert who was employed there. Their car and another hit head-on as they left the area. Investigating officers said the younger Mrs. Mower was killed instantly. Wilford was taken by plane to the LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, where he underwent surgery. sur-gery. He sustained multiple fractures, concussion, deep cuts a.nd abraisions about his face and body and other serious injuries. in-juries. Mrs. Wilfred Mower and the baby were taken to a hospital hos-pital at Lowell, Wyo., for observation, ob-servation, Gregory, 17, escaped with cuts and bruises. Wilfred and his wife are both employed as teachers in River-ton, River-ton, Wyo., he in high school where he ' is also assistant coach and she in the grades. The son, Robert, 22, just completed com-pleted college and has signed a contract to teach chemistry and science in the high school at Pinedale. Friends here said the body of Mrs. Robert Mower would be taken to her home-town of Lovell, Wyo., for funeral services ser-vices and burial. Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Best, friends of the Mowers went to the LDS hospital to see Mr. Mower Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thorpe also left for Riverton, Wyo. upon hearing of the accident to assist Mrs. Mower. |
