Show CITY COUNCIL MATTERS. The council met in regular session ses-sion Nov. 17, 1902, Mayor Anderson Ander-son presiding. Roll called, Councilor Coun-cilor Tennant absent. Prayer by Councilor Madsen. "Walter Stringham petitioned for a reconsideration of city council's action of last meeting with respect to the damage he complained of. He explained that the dam in question ques-tion had been raised four feet higher than the original dam, by order of the city council of that time. The consequence is that in springtime the water overflows on his land and causes the damage complained of. Councilor Becker moved the matter be referred to committee on Irrigation Irri-gation and city attorney; carried. Mr. P. II. Madsen appeared on behalf of owners of the Brigham Field ditch and people depending upon it for watering their stock during winter. The water that came into the ditch was very irregular irreg-ular and it was impossible to keep the water from overflowing. The irregularity was only of recent date. He also stated the Sexton took the water from the ditch to irrigate the cemetery, and thereby deprived parties of the water who were 'using 'us-ing it at the same time. Councilor Jensen moved the "Watermaster be instructed to give the water to owners of the Brio-ham Field ditch according; to regulations; carried. Stephen L. Vorhees complained of parties running a livery business jvithout paying a license equal to hisTid also engaging in draying business as-jyell. He was willing to pay any amount the council thought proper for a license. Councilor Coun-cilor Tuttle moved the matter be referred to committee on Laws and Revision and report at next meeting; meet-ing; carried. The committee on Streets and Alleys reported that they had seen some of the owners of the Brigham Field ditch, and believed the owners own-ers would assist in putting the sidewalks damaged in good condi-tion condi-tion in a short time. The committee on "Waferworks reported they had called for bids to construct the new tank. They had received one bid, the estimate given being $170. 00. Report accepted.
