Show THE CITY COUNCIL. Council met in regular session Oct. 6th, Mayor Anderson presiding. presid-ing. Roll called, Councilor Becker absent. Prayer by Recorder. The following parties had their taxes remitted in full and in part: Johanna A. Snow, SI. 15; Martin Axel-son, Axel-son, $3.50; Mrs. Niels Rosencrantz, $5.00; Mrs. Charlotte Carlson, $1.45; Mrs. Cecelia Ce-celia Maria Jensen, $1.85; Mrs. E. C. Domgaard, $2.80; Mrs. Elsine D. Madsen, S1.80; Mrs. Bertha M. Nielson, $1.80; Rasmus Ras-mus Miller, 1.50; Mrs.Maren Nielson, 5.95. The Recorder, Treasurer, Justice. Marshal, Mar-shal, Supt. of Waterworks and Estray Poundkeeper's reports were read and referred re-ferred to Auditing committee. The Supervisor Su-pervisor submitted his, and the Sexton's report showed there had been fifteen deaths during the quarter. Chas. Christensen applied for a retail liquor license for three months, which was granted. He gave bonds and paid $200. The Watermaster reported he had met with some of the owners of the Brigham Field with respect to repairing the sidewalk. side-walk. Some were willing to do something if all owners helped. He had taken a force of men and repaired the Burnt Hill Fork reservoir thoroughly. He was go- at once. Report accepted. The Marshal reported the diphtheria epidemic had passed away; there is only one case at present. He reported with respect to the Forest Reserve that it had been encroached upon again, and the vegetation was very much eaten down on the outskirts in places. Report was accepted. ac-cepted. The Supervisor reported he had had a force of men picking rocks off the streets for six days. He had inspected the Paving Pav-ing District and laid down gravel where needed. There were fifty men .vet to be called out. He had ordered 3,000 feet of lumber for city purposes. Report accepted. ac-cepted. The petition of Bruce Brown for a bridge across the East channel was referred re-ferred to committee on Streets and Alleys, Al-leys, with power to act. Councilor Jensen moved to appropriate S5.00 to the Recorder for contingent ex-pen ex-pen -ies; carried. Councilor Jensen moved that the repairing re-pairing of the sidewalk at Brigham Field ditch be referred to committee on Streets and Alleys and Supervisor, with power to act; carried. Councilor Madsen moved that committee commit-tee on Irrigation investigate the claim of Walter Stringham for damage received during high water; carried. Councilor Madsen moved that Supt. of Public Works be instructed to build a snow fence at the head of Manti canyon, the cost not to exceed $50.00; carried.
