Mr. Lamb and his school visited the coal mines of Wales Tuesday afternoon, for the purpose of gathering gath-ering specimens and to see the fossilized fos-silized animal and tree in the roof of the mine. The miners thought it to be some kind of a fish, and others seem to see some characteristics character-istics of an animal. The tree is about fifty feet long and the limbs can be seen very distinctly. Well, to tell the truth, the Republicans Re-publicans held a rally in Wales Tuesday night.' IIow it came out some of the Republicans would like to know. Tuesday, Mr. Reid and others came to Wales, and after driving around the town left word that they would be back the following fol-lowing night. When the time came they were present, hoping to see a large crowd, as Reid had it pictured, pic-tured, with torchlights and drums to greet them ; but, alas, it was only a dream. They would have been thankful to have found the chairman or secretary present; and as they tell it, they promised him no more than three votes, so they left unmolested and unknown to the people of Wales. |
