the I fire was of incendiary origin Heat He-at once notified City Attorney AB Morgan of his conclusion and informed in-formed him that hesuspected Chris GiirlinntiBoii of having set fire to the t building i Gudmanson was immediately arrested and the Marshal Mar-shal and attorney spent all day conversing with him Mayor Creer was called in consultation and before be-fore night the officers were convinced con-vinced that they had the right man Gudmanson was locked up over Sunday night and Monday morning morn-ing he made a full confession to the officers Gadmansons confession confes-sion is in substance as follows ho attempted to get a bucket of beer after hours at each of the different saloons but was refused the beer at each The last place he tried was the saloon of J It Wren and he claimed that the bartender not only refused to let him have any beer hut squirted water on him out of a hose Gudmanson became i very angry and made up his mind to have revenge He waited around two hours until the saloon men had gone home and en smashed Wrens saloon window with rooks and set fire to a barrel of papers in the rear of tho Hughes saloon with the deliberate intention of burning I up
