I lu-x- Bids Wanted The people of Mammoth were shocked Saturday evening to learn that Teide Markham had met with a fatal accident at the smelter. He was employed as brakeman on the Eureka Hill Railroad, which brings the ore from the Colorado and other east side mines to the smelter and while coupling cars at the scales, he slipped under the train, the wheels passing over both legs at the knee. Physicians were hastily summoned and did everything possible to aid the wounded man. For a time it was thought he would recover and might only lose one leg. He was conveyed to Gallager's boarding house and later to the Junction, where he was put on the 11 o'clock train for Salt Lake. Just as he was being taken from the train in the city, Teide died. Mammoth Record. Funeral services were held over the remains of Mr. Markham at the Third ward meeting house Tuesday afternoon. The speakers were Bishop M. Larsen, Bishop Hales and C. W. Booth.
