Mr. Snell was buried by the Maccabees; thnt is, they were the pall bearers and marched before the hearse to the cemetery and at the grave their ritual was read, which was very impressive. E. II. Johnson, acting commander stood at the head while chaplain Will Stewart stood at the foot. Two members stood on each side of the grave holding in their hands spears which they crossed above their heads over the open grave while the ritual was being read. At the close of the reading each Maccabee present dropped a small spray of evergreen Into the grave, then a wreath of evergreen was lowered, after which the Maccabees withdrew, leaving the people present to finish the burial in the usual manner.
