Show Death of Mrs Cynthia Rockhill The story of Cynthia Rockhills death told briefly Is as follows About the 2th of sho present month she went to tho Holy Cross hospital and was operated on for hemorrhoids The operation was successful and on the Oth she left the hospital walking half a block to the street car line Sho boarded a car and went to tho home of her daughter Mrs Vera Gardner After arriving there she was taken III with heart failure of which she expired ex-pired in a few minutes after her arrival Funeral services were held over her remains at the First ward meetinghouse meeting-house last Monday Bishop R W Mc Kell presiding The house was filled tots to-ts utmost capacity three of her steers ste-ers and one brother from Richfield being present The pulpit was drnped In white muslin and ornamented with fresh fern leaves and flowers The casket was brought in at 230 p m It was completely covered with the choicest choic-est pink and white roses interwoven with fresh fern and other green and beautiful leaves Some of these were worked by loving fingers into beautiful designs Among the pall bearers were Hon Henry Gardner and Postmaster L O Lawrence The choir led by Wm Frost sang The Resurrection Day Invocation by Wm Jex The speakers were Samuel Cornaby J P Creer Bishop Argyle and President Henry Gardner Ed Williams sang a solo When We Meet on That Beautiful Beauti-ful Shore Tho Second ward male quartet sang J Need Thee Every Hour Most Gracious Lord The choir sang in closing Nearer My God to Thee The speakers all bore a faithful faith-ful testimony to the moral qualities of he deceased Mrs Rockhill was born on the Span Ish Fork River January 4th 1852 and was the daughter of Albert K Thurber and Thursa Thurberand was the widow of the late John Rockhill who died just 11 years before her She was the mother of 12 children 11 of whom survive her She was a faithful wife a loving mother and a useful member of society The closing prayer was offered by Samuel Brockbank GAll |
