Show Mrs George Jarvis Dies Death loves a shining mark Byron On Thursday November 4th Sister Ann Belle Patterson Jarvis passed away nt her home in the First ward after nn illness of only two days although her health has not been the best for the past two years Sister Jarvis was born at Kaysville Utah March 4th 1857aml was the daughter of Mr and MrsSam uel Patterson both of whom died in this city number of years ago She was married to George Jarvis Jan 4th 1875 by whom she had two sons and live daughters four of whom are married mar-ried two sons and two daughters Her eldest unmarried daughter is 18 and her youngest is 10 Sister Jarvis was a lady of refinement and culture and a lover of flowers She was a faithful Latter Day Saint and a teacher in the ward Relief Society She was kind to all taking great pleasure in assisting those who were in need In her death society loses an active member and the needy n generous friend She was nn affectionate wife a loving mother forever for-ever watchful over her own children und household The funeral services were held nt tho First urd meeting house and were presided over by Bishop R W McKell Tho meeting was called to order at 2 p m The choir sang Creation Speaks With Awful Voice htvoc ion John H Hayes The choir sang Sister Thou Wast Mild and Lovely The speakers Were Elias Lewis Morris J Martell and President Henry Gardner of the Nebo Stake all of whom bore a faithful testiinony of the moral worth of the deceased mingled with words of hope and comfort to the bereaved The pulpit was draped in white and decorated deco-rated with flowers The meeting house was filled to overflowing and the funeral procession wits of great length The sympathy of the whole city goes out to Brother Jarvis and his herein cd family while her death has cast a feeling of gloom over our whole city and caused an aching void in very many hearts At the close the choir sang Nearer My God to Thee ruin the benediction was pronounced by Brother C W Booth GAH |
