and jubilation issued i ss u from four of the leading baptist churches of the city at t the he early hour of six this morning within these edifices the delegates and visitors to the sixth international convention of the baptist young peoples union of america were engaged in meetings expressive of joy and praise as thankful remembrances of the blessings of the year the services at the first church wore were conducted by rev W G partridge of cincinnati those at the tabernacle by rev benjamin NV wood of boston while rev calvin A hare of indianapolis led the devotions at the south church and rev bev A P of wilmington those at the second german church after breakfast workers conferences co efer on juvenile work social work missions and instructions were held at four of the principal edifices rev K R B smith of parkersburg W va presided over that at the immanuel presbyterian church and which was devoted to an open parliament on the juvenile society the speakers were louisville at the conference on instruction presided over by rev william P mckeeff mckee of minneapolis minn the speakers included rev F W parsons of marshalltown Marshall town ia lar W W west pittsburg and W L wright wn D D richmond va mornay williams william of new york yerk city presided over the conference on missions and at which miss mary G burdett of chicago and rev dr robert G seymour of philadelphia delp hig were the principal speak speakers erv I 1 the great event of the day however was the salutation of the flags and which took place in the exposition building after the noon recess representatives presenta tives of each state and provincial union marched to the platform carrying aloft their banners and being greeted with three resonate cheers from ten thousand voices the scene resembled that at the democratic national convention when the state delegations seized andl and bore aloft their banners and marched around the hall to the strains of inspiring music music the banners of the canadian provinces were of blue and those of the different sections of the united states of gold red and green after being on the platform brief reports from each of the states and
