Show L. D. S. SCHOOLS MAY PROHIBIT FOOTBALL Football will probably not be adopted In the L. D. S. church schools. At a meeting of the church board of education held yesterday the sentiment of mcmcers of the board was against it, although the committee appointed lias not made a report. re-port. Adam Bennion, superintendent of church schools, presided, and the three commissioners of education, David O. Ale-Kay, Ale-Kay, Stephen L. Richards and Richard R. Lyman, were added to the board. H. H. Cummings, former superintendent, superinten-dent, made his financial and statistical report, stating there were 7100 pupils enrolled en-rolled in church schools this year, a decrease de-crease of only 1000, due to the influenza epidemic. There are twenty-two church schools and twenty-one church seminaries will be established next year. |
