it necea aary that decided and immediate stops be taken to do away with the evil and crime that now exists and to anniah the evildoers evil doers therefore be it resolved Resol that we the ladies and 0 kizena of the first ward in mass meeting assembled do call upon the city codicil of provo city to enforce the lawa that now exist forbidding the ads mission of minors to saloons resolved that the city council of provo city be earnestly requested to enact an ordinance prohibiting the aar adr mission of any girl or woman to a saloon or to any rooms leased or used in connection with a and that as severe a penalty as possible be imposed for the violation of such ordinance resolved that we especially condemn the traffic and immorality that haj ha j been known to exist in tha diamond saloon and in rooms used in connection therewith and demand a revocation of the license and that any further effort or petition of ita proprietors or keepers to obtain ali cense either in the bame or any other locality in provo city under any name be denied aad that the same ba treated as a public nuisance and that the officers win have permitted euch a condition to eliet be censured by the city council and to answer for the murder of one of the girls of thia city and that it is generally believed thab said proprietor brought thia girl to her degradation and ruin at eaid diamond saloon and whereas we believe that an institution such aa the above bodea evil and destruction to the home ruination to our sona and daughters demoralized demora lizea and desolation over the entire land resolved that we the wives moth era sisters and daughters of the citi zana of the fourth ward in masa meet ing assembled do hereby petition your honorable body bot onla to refuse license to the diamond saloon but to refuse to grant further license to any saloon for the sale of intoxicating liquors aa a beverage in provo city and further bo it resolved that we the women of the fourth ward pledge ourselves to
