Show A TRAVELER accomplished much during her journey in africa miss kingsley has explored the came boons region west africa and her adventures proved both interesting and exciting during a canoe journey up the river the canoe acs upset nearly a dozen times and the intrepid lady explorer and her party of natives were thrown into the water but perhaps the most disagreeable experience was encountered in the fangie country the gangwes are cannibals and are one of the few tribes in africa which eat their own dead the people were friendly toward miss kingsley but she had great trouble in preventing them from killing and eating soma of her servants shedid not come across one burial place in the fangie country but she found that in roost of the native mud huts pieces of human beings were being kept just aa civilized people keep fresh meat and other eatables in their larders on one occasion when misa kingsley was turning out the contents of a sack to try ana find out the origin of a sickening smell hands feet eyes and other human remains tumbled out on tha ground although this remarkable lady slept often in the open air was drenched with rain many times and experienced almost avry laricey of temperature she health and intends to return to west africa in a few weeks time |
