Show FLU HR IN TEN 111 DISTRICTS New Cases Continue to Show Increase in the Army Camps. WASHINGTON, Oct. 29. New cases of influenza anil pneumonia continue to show a slight inereaso in army camps over the country, particularly in camps where new increments are arriving. Reports Re-ports received tonight show new cases of influenza numbered 2860 against 2831 for the previous day, while there was a marked increase in new pneumonia pneumo-nia cases, (ill) being reported against 431 for yesterday. Deaths totaled IDS against 188 the da before. Camp Cody, Texas, again reported the highest number of influenza eases. ' Surgeon General Braisted announced today that the influenza epidemic ia over in ten naval districts, and that it is on the wane in all other places except Paris Island, S. (!., and Mare Island, Cal. The surgeon general of the army announced an-nounced today that, vaccination against pneumonia is available now for every officer and enlisted man and civilian employee of the army. The vaccine is said to have proved a preventive of pneumonia following influenza. LINCOLN, Neb., Oct. 29 Improvement Improve-ment in the Spanish influenza epidemic situation in Nebraska was indicated today to-day by the; state board of health announcing an-nouncing that 1800 new cases of the disease were reported since yesterday. This is a big decrease in the number of cases reported daily since the epidemic began. The board announced it would meet tomorrow to decide whether or not the state-wide quarantine should be lifted Saturday, November 2. OMAHA, Neb., Oct. 29. The state board of health ban against Spanish influenza in-fluenza lifts at midnight Friday, Governor Gov-ernor Neville said this morning. Local health authorities will, have the right to object to raising the ban locally if they are so disposed. DENVER, Oct. 29. Following indications indica-tions of marked abatement yesterday the influenza epidemic broke out with renewed re-newed vigor in Denver today and the largest number of new cases recorded for a single day was reported for the twenty-four-hour period ending at 5 o'clock this evening. In Denver 487 new cases were added to the official record, while in the state at large SOO were reported. Eight deaths occurred in Denver, while In the state outside Denver city fifty-nine victims were claimed. Leadville ' today reported nineteen deaths in the last forty-eight hours, making mak-ing the total number of victims in that city and near-by mining camps exceed 100. |
