Show EAST JUNIOR HIGH PRESENTS OPERETTA "Hiawatha's Childhood" and Red Cross Play Given Before Large and Appreciative Audience. Students of the East junior high school presented "Hiawatha's Childhood," Child-hood," an operetta, and a Red Cross play last night in the school auditorium before a packed house. The Red Cross play was featured by a large chorus. More than 100 students formed the cast. A chorus of 175 voices, under direction direc-tion of Miss Lisle Bradford, was heard. The chorus was well trained and rendered ren-dered the many songs in a clever manner. man-ner. Miss Lorraine Smith, as Nokomis, Kenneth Karamerman, as Hiawatha, Ray Ward as Iago and Fred Pike as Nucljekewis, were the soloists. Those who represented the Indian maids and held leading parts, were Miss Berniec Bennion, Miss Julia Esselbach, Miss Audrev Herriek, Miss Helen Badger and Miss Fern Peterson. The Indian youths were Whitnev Parry, Dean Starr, Jack Moran and Jeffrv Ward. The dances in the production were under direction of Miss Trieste Pearson. The high school orchestra was in attendance at-tendance under leadership of L. P. Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, accompanied by Miss Norma Madsen. Mrs. Emma Ivie was in charge of making the many costumes. |
