Show THIRTY IIS FOR llAfSRI SHOW Young and Midkiff in One of Three Feature Events. Patrons of Downing's weekly boxing shows in the Hippodrome theater are promised a great night's battling next Monday night. Manager Downing has arranged a card of three six-round and three four-round battles, making thirty rounds of milling. Cme of the headliners of the evening will bring together Ned Young, the crack local cyclist, who has proved himself to be the sensation of the present boxing season, and Battling Charley Midkiff. These two are rivals of ola. Midkiff put a crimp in Young's pugilistic aspirations aspi-rations several years ago when Ned was knocking them all over as fast as they came. The height of his ambition has been to get another crack at Midkiff. The manner in which Young has been taking the measure of the best local welterweights during the past few months indicates that he is going better than ever before and stands a mighty good chance to take the Battler into camp. Another headliner will also bring together to-gether a pair of real rivals in Battling Johnson and Kid Dutch. These two boys met at the old Grand during the past winter and gave the fans heart trouble for the entire four rounds. First one would be on the mat for the count of eight or nine and then the other. Neither could put over the winning wallop wal-lop and when the final gong rang they were standing toe to toe in the center of the ring and exchanging -wallops for all they were worth. "Abie, the Fighting Yid." will get' the acid test, and have a chance to show what he can do over the extended route when he meets Young Hansen of Fort Douglas, who has proved himself to be a tough and game boy. Hansen has never shown much fancy boxing ability, .but he has proved that he has a real fighting fight-ing heart and never quits trying until the final gong has rung. Abie has been taking- all of his opponents into camp inside in-side of the allotted four rounds, but he will have a tough proposition on his hands Monday. p Billie Hughes,' the local youngster, who made quite a reputation as an amateur boxer and last Monday night gave Fighting Fight-ing George a real battle for four roOnds, will meet Ray Bankhead of Murray in the first four-rounder of the evening. Bill Sayley and Bill Gates, from different dif-ferent companies at the post, will furnish fur-nish the first preliminary of the evening and the regulation amateur curtain-raiser will round out the fun.
