INSTEAD of the usual program of music mu-sic and readings, the annual graduation gradua-tion exercises of the Holy Cross hospital hos-pital Training school for Nurses will consist of a solemn high mass, offered of-fered in the chapel of the institution at 10 o'clock this morning. Diplomas and pins will be awarded six young women who have completed the three years' course. The celebrant of the mass will be the Rt. Rev. Joseph S. Glass, C. M., D. D. ; the deacon, the Rev. Leo Hartz; subdea-con, subdea-con, the Rev. M. Sheehan: master of ceremones, the Rev. S. Anzalone; deacon of honor, the Rev. J. DeGroote; assistant Priest, the Rev. T. O'Brien, With acolytes from the Cathedral of the Madeleine. The choir was especially good, St Mary's academy orchestra assisting the organist. Bishop Glass preached the sermon ser-mon and presented the diplomas. Graduation exercises proper were begun be-gun with an alumnae dinner served last Tuesday at the hospital. Covers were laid for ninety members, including the class of 1918. Members of St. Mary's orchestra or-chestra and the class of 1918 of St. Mary's were guests. The orchestra gave a concert for patients at the hospital during the evening. A dinner for physicians physi-cians of the staff will be given later this month. This has been the most successful year in the history of the hospital. Two years ago, when the addition was built, it was believed to provide ample room for years in the future, but the increased number of patients has rendered the building insufficient in-sufficient for the applicants. Further enlargement mav be projected. Many alumnae are already in France and others are at training camps In this country. |
