Show COUNTY OFFICIALS' SALARIES INVOLVED Cache Case, to Be Heard Before Supreme Su-preme Court Today, Grows Out or Higher Bate of Pay. Salaries paid to county officers is a matter involved in a case which is to come before the supreme court for argument argu-ment todav. Tt is the appeal iu the ease of Olof Cronquist against A. M. Mathews, auditor and Leslie W. Hovey, treasurer, of Cache county. Cronquist obtained an order from the district court, enjoining these eounty officials from issuing and cashing warrants war-rants issued in payment of salaries lor March under a revised schedule filed by the county commissioners at their meeting on March 4. On that date the commissioners raised salaries to the following fol-lowing amounts: .Treasurer, from ,$1200 to $1500: sheriff and clerk, from $1200 to $1600: attorney, from $600 to $1000 per annum. Cronquist was successful in the district court in preventing the at-tcimpt at-tcimpt to put this advance into cftect. The county officials appealed. Other cases set for argument today are Kthcl Moore, administratrix, against the Ogden, Logan & Idaho railway, and the Peter Hanson will controversy. |
