Show BEAVERS PUSH ACORNS OUT OF FIMTfl Ken Penner, Aided by Farmer Wilie and Siglin, Gives Portland Third Straight Victory. By International News Service. SAN F Ft A N CISCO, June 21. The Beavers from Portland are galloping away with the bacon and with Oakland's pennant pen-nant hopes. For the third successive time they squelched the aspiring Acorns today and by so doing crushed them out of the first division. The score was 3 to 1 and the discredit of the pitching goes to the mountainous Mr. Good bred, whose dis- credit is wrapped up in a bundle or mighty good pitching. Goodbred uncoiled a high-class string of heaving, but a ; youth known to fame as Penner turned , out a little classier brand of goods, j Goodbred met disaster in t tie first in-i in-i htng when Hollorher cracked a single to center field. Advancing one base on Rodgers's out, Hollocher was sent home on a lusty two-bagger bv Wllle. Another An-other safety, this time a long single by Farmer, scored VVUie. In ibis same frame the Oaks got in their one ace. Two were out when Iee slammed out a two-bagger. Baldwin, Portland's new catcher, failed to get his mitts on a pitch and Lee took third. . Baldwin repeated his feat and Lee ambled I home. j Portland got another In the fourth on i Farmer's triple and Siglln's rap for two. PORTLAND. AB. R. H. PO. A. E.
