Bowman entertained at an attractively at-tractively arranged bridge lunrli- eon yesterday at the home of Mrs. Bowman, on Harvard avenue, in compliment to Mrs. David Keith, Jr. Yellow jonquils a.nd Hootch heather were arranged in crystal basketH to decorate the luncheon tables. A lavender and gold color scheme was carried out in all of the details of the entertainment. On one large table a targe basket of the jonquils and heather formed the centerpiece and small baskets of the artistic combination adorned two smaller tables. Covers were laid for twenty-five. Bridge followed luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Keyser entertained enter-tained at nn elaborately appointed dinner din-ner last nisht at their home on East First South street, followed by a box partv at the Orpheum. A gold basket of sprinsr flowers, including in-cluding daffodils, tulips and erica, was the centerpiece for the table. Pale blue ribbon adorned the handle of the basket. Covers were laid for ten. , Miss Anne Critchlow, daughter of Mr. M Mrs. E. B. Critchlow, "who is a -"ephomore at Vnssar college, has been honored by being selected as one of the twenty-four girls of her class to carry the daisy chain in class day exercises in June. The selection is made from the most attractive and beautiful young women wo-men of the class. The daipy chain is part of a pageant on class day and follows a long-eslab-lished custom. The twenty-four young girls, bearing a chain of fresh daisies on their shoulders in a line of march opening open-ing class day exercises, form an aisle through which the senior classes pass. All of the young- women of the daisy i chain and the seniors are gowned in white, which makes an unusually attractive attrac-tive picture. Miss Dorothy Bailey of this city, who was graduated from Vassar last June, was one of the bearers of the daisy chain while a sophomore. Mrs. Clayton D. Smith entertained at a St. Patricks luncheon at the Newhouse hotel yesterday afternoon. Bridge followed fol-lowed on the mezzanine floor. A potted shamrock was the centerpiece for the table. Irish potatoes with green hats and cut to resemble faces were placed about the table. Favors of Irish hats filled with bon bons were at each plate. The guests were Mrs. D. S. Campbell, Mrs. Gilbert Williams, Mrs. E. V. Thompson, Thomp-son, Mrs. Curtis Clawson, Mrs. O. .T. Raymond Ray-mond of Garfield, Mrs. J. A. Quealy, Mrs. H. O. Campbell of Boise, Miss Lulu Snow, Miss Margaret Thornberg, Mrs. Marcena Foster and Mrs. Ben Roberts. Americanism was the keynote of the programme at the meeting of the Spirit of Liberty chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. F. S. Bascom, 3S West Fifth South street. Tea was served at the close of the programme. Mrs. R. C. Gemmell was the assisting hostess. The tea table had an artistic centerpiece of anemones arranged in a Venetian epergne on a cluny lace cover. Presiding at the table were Mrs. W. A. Senter and Mrs. R. C. Gemmell. White snapdragons snap-dragons were used about the rooms. J00 paper written by Mrs. C. E. Allen -fii "Early Days of the Chapter" was read by Miss Edith Mudgett. Miss Alice Rowe spoke on "The New American Citizens" and dwelt on the duty of Americans to emigrants. Miss Isabel Bacon, winner of Y & the recent medal contest in the Salt Lake I high school, read her prize-winning essay Vn "The New American." Miss Fanny 1 NP. who received honorable mention ."the contest, presented her essay on j 'Lincoln." Vocal numbers were given by I Mrs. Ernest A. Smith and piano selections by Miss Becky Almond. The chapter has decided to have a card party at the Ladies' Literary club house April 11 for the benefit of the Red Cross fund. Mrs. William M. McCrea entertained her sewing club at a matinee party at the Orpheum yesterday afternoon. The I party included the members of the club, who are Mrs. John C. Daly, Mrs. F. II. Leonard, Mrs. J. fl. Patrick, Mrs. Albert Al-bert S. Bower, Mrs. Walter K. Conrad, Mrs. William Z. Harrison, Mrs. L. B. Fuller, Mrs. Horace H. Smith. Mrs. Ralph A. McBroom, Miss Kate Groo and Mrs. Harry Bintz. The Joy club entertained with a large dancing party last night at the Ladies' Literary club house. The drawing room, reception hall and auditorium of the club house were attractively decorated in spring flowers. Punch was served by little Miss Violet McCormick and little Miss Norma Ashton, dressed in picturesque costumes. Music was furnished by the Selbert Five. Miss Julia Rebeil of Arizona, one of the entries in a musical contest to decide t he championship for the weisern district dis-trict of the National Federation of Musical Mu-sical Societies, to be held in Salt Lake Monday, is at the Hotel Utah. The champion cham-pion of the western district will go to the federation meeting at Birmingham, Ala., April Vi. for a final contest witli those selected from other districts. The western district includes Washington. Washing-ton. Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, California. Utah, Arizona Ari-zona and New Mexico. The Junior men members of the faculty and their wives were the guests of honor. The tea was the third in a series that have been given this semester by the young women of the various classes. The members of the Faculty Men's club of the University entertained their wives and friends at an informal reception recep-tion last evening in the women's rest room. An illustrated lecture on "The History of Lake Bonneville'' was given by Professor F. J. Pack, head of the geology geol-ogy department. The Central W. C. T.
