Show DANES DISCUSSING SALE OF ISLANDS COPKXrTAGEX, Sept. 22. via London. Lon-don. Sept. 23. 1:11 a. m. The lauds-thing-, or upper house, of the Danish parliament, will finish on Monday the readings on the government's bill to sell the Danish West Indies to the United States. The bill will then be submitted to the folkething, or lower house, and, if the two houses disarce it is viitually certain that a committee of members of both houses will be appointed ap-pointed to discuss the measure. It :s expected that the question whei her general elections shall take place will be settled next week, but since the matter of the sale now has been delayed two months by the rigs-dag, rigs-dag, the election probably will not be held before Xrovember. Commodore Know, commander of the Danish cruiser Valkyrien, now at St. Thomas, D. W. U. will succeed Helwig Larsen as governor of the Danish West Indies on October 1 and will act temporarily tem-porarily in that capacity until the question of tho sale of the islands is settled. |
