Show CIVIL SERVICE MAN TO INSTRUCT BOARDS' Charles, L. Snyder of San Francisco Is Paying Official Visit to ' Utah. Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, Sept. 22. f 'buries L. Snyder, Sny-der, secretary of tho Twelfth district of the United States civil service, division, divi-sion, arrived in Ogden this morning from his headquarters at San Francisco for the purpose of instructing the local civil service board in carrying out examinations ex-aminations of applicants for government govern-ment positions. The board here is composed com-posed of John C. Litzenberg of the postoffice carrier force, William II. Johnson of the postoffice money order department and Felix Moore of the operations op-erations department of the Fourth forest for-est district. There are about 200 boards of civil service examiuers in the Twelfth district dis-trict and it is one. of Mr. Snyder's duties du-ties to visit all of the boards and keep them advised as to methods in examining exam-ining applicants. He expects to be in I'tah for several days. After conferring confer-ring with board members in Brigham Cit'v, Logan, Park City and Provo, the district secretary will go to Salt, Lake Citv to conduct an examination of applicants ap-plicants for stenographer and typewriter type-writer on Monday. After concluding his work in Utah, he will go to Denver, Colo. At the forest headrpinrt.ors today Mr. Snvder was in conference with A. W. Smith, assistant chief accountant, of the forest service, with headquarters at Washington, D. 0. Mr. Smith arrived in Ogden yesterday to go over the accounts ac-counts and estimates of Q. H. Craft, district, fiscal agent. From this headquarters head-quarters Mr. Smith will go to the forest headquarters at San Francisco. He is a former Ogden man, his mother and brother being residents "of this city at the present time. |
