Show STRIKE ORE BODY ON THE BEAVER GOPPER Special to The Tribune. MILFORD, Aug. 15. Two feet of copper cop-per ore has been struck in the drift off the 100-foot level on the Beaver Copper Mining Min-ing company's property, located in the Beaver Lake mining district, according to officials of the company who arrived here today. The ore body is believed to be the same one that was cut in the upper workings. The main shaft, after being retlmbered to the 55-foot point, was driven down to the 140-foot point, at which point sinking sink-ing was suspended. It was sunk on the fissure and for a considerable distance through ore. A crosscut was driven to the north from the 100-foot level and the main ore-bearing fissure encountered in about fourteen feet of crosscutting. The fissure was then drifted on to the north for a distance of seventy-three feet, at which point two feet of ore was struck. The officials of the company are positive that It Is the downward extension of the same ore body that was encountered in the upper workings, and expect to drive on it along its strike for a distance of about fortv feet. The holdings of the Beaver Copper company consist of four claims, two of which are patented and two of which are surveyed for patent. The property lias been equipped with a hoist, compressor and power drills. It is located six miles from the railroad. The company is capitalized for one million mil-lion shares, par value 10 cents, and all of the stock is issued. A. D. Moffat is president; pres-ident; F. S. Walden is secretary and treasurer, and Lewis Merrlman, superintendent superin-tendent of the Yankee Consolidated in the Tintic district, is managing director. |
