M. k K. mill at Gibbonsville, which has been shut clown for some time past, will resume operations this month. E. . E. Kd wards, the Piipcrin tori dent, states that ten of the fifteen stamps will be in service ser-vice ami that there. is a large body of ore ready to handle. The ore generally is of much lower grade than that which made Gibbonsville camp famous in the early days, but there is said to be much high-grade ore still iu reserve, worth from $40 to $1)0 per ton. Last, winter the heavy snows caused the roof of the mill property to collapse. Recently the debris was removed and it was found that very little damage had been clone to the machinery. There is ample power to work the mill and electric light plant. At the Copper Queen, near Tendoy, another crusher is neing put in. Three shifts are now working at this mine. J-iurkhnrt & iSon are installing a hydraulic hy-draulic hoist at their placer diggings two miles from the old town of Yellow Jacket, In the same district II. De Prow is negotiating for a lease of the Yellow Jacket and is planning the equipment equip-ment of the old mill with thirty stamps. The Columbia, recently acquired by A. Ludwig, is being put in workable shape. Judge .1. 13. Giles is operating the Stein mine. Work is also being done on Wilson Wil-son creek. A grert deal of development work is beiiiCT done on copper properties in the MeDevitt creek district, near Tendoy. Kncouraging results are reported from the tunnel being driven on the April Fool property. |
