Show New Outfielder for Saints to Join Club at Once. JOHN BEALL. WORD from Portland Is to the effect that John Beall, a noted slugging outfielder, will join the Saints at once. Beall la the man about whom the news-Papers news-Papers have been printing mysterious hints for the last two weeks. Beat comes to the Salt Lake club from the Cincinnati Nationals. Last year he batted .34 for the Milwaukee club of the American association. In 1914 he hit 312 and In 101.3 hi.s record was .2ss, so It can be seen that .Mr. Beall hits harder with increasing ye.irs. The comln? of Beall puts a somewhat different aspect on things. If Blankenship Blanken-ship sticks to his determination of carrying carry-ing only sixteen men. It will mean the disappearance of a couple of men now with the club. A possibilitv is that if Beall proves to be the crack he Is reputed to be. Blankenship may confer the utilitv Job on Jimmy Shinn. Jimmy is no slouch as an Infielder. having shown no lack of ability at third In several games last year. Murphy and Halllnan are at present pres-ent fighting It out for the regular third sacking job. and one of them, or possiblv both, may fail to meet Blankenshlp's requirements. re-quirements.
