After a hard i uphill fight today tho Beavers finally won 1 a ball game from the Angels, the score being n to 4. It was nip and tuck., for every time the visitors made a run the home team matched it, tying the score. This kept up until the eighth, wiien tho score was 3 to 3. At this stage of the game the visitors started a rally which netted them two runs and obtained them the game. In spite of a terrific effort to win on the-part of the Angels in the last half of the eighth, they fell one run short. The rally started when Rodgers walked. Routhworth rapped out a single to center, sending Hill to second. A bunt by Gulsto to Hall resulted In Rodgers being tossed out at third, Southworth taking second. 1 A timely single by Fisher scored South-worth South-worth and nut (inlsto on third. Ward. after Nixon had fanned, rose to the emergency and sent Gulsto . across the plate with the last run. Roche rim for Fisher and made a desperate effort to score, but was thrown out at home. Loudermilk's wlldness was a source of trouble to his companions throughout the game. The first two runs of the Angels were due to this cause and also those made in the fifth, when -tho ycore was tied, and In the ninth, when they almost did It again. Hall was hard hit at all times.
