Show DRAGON CGI SHIPS BIG II HIE Eagle & Blue Bell Cutting Station at the 1875 Level. During the week the work of installing install-ing a new boiler at the property of the Dragon Consolidated Mining company has been in progress and Assistant General Gen-eral Manager Frank Birch says that the job should be completed within the next week or ten days, says the Eureka Reporter. Re-porter. A few weeks ago the Dragon Consolidated Con-solidated company secured a contract for the marketing of a large quantity of iron ore, and m order to handle the large production which at present is coming from this property the officials of the Knight company have found it necessary to increase their boiler capacity. ca-pacity. The boiler to be used was taken from the Colorado Consolidated mine, aa this property lately has been working at a low ebb and the boiler was not in use. This contract was secured se-cured before the smelters gave notice that the mines would bo compolled to reduce shipments, and consequently they are shipping at full capacity. The other Knight properties, however, suffered suf-fered the reduction. Practically oli of the ore coming from the Dragon is iron, although the company is shipping a little copper of a good grade. Last week the Dragon shipped thirtv-nine carloads of ore, estimated es-timated at fiity tons each, and, according accord-ing to Manager Birch, the daily output is about 250 tons. Conditions at the Iron Blossom are about the same as usual. This mine is shipping considerable copper which has accumulated during the smelter . congestion, but the output is away below be-low normal. The company so far has found no market for its silicious ores. Cutting out a big station is still going on at tne iagie s isiue ren s main working shaft, where a strike was made recently in the sinking of the shaft from the 1700 to the 1875 level. Ore was struck at the 1832 and has continued con-tinued down to the station. Most of the station work is in ore. Ore is also found in the sump under the station. It will be a few days yet before any amount of prospecting can get even started in the plans of the management ' to ascertain just how big the new ore body is or whether or not it is an extension ex-tension of the known adjacent ore bodies. According to reports, there has been a fine vein of lead ore opened up in the property of the Tintic central, located an the eastern end of the Tintic mining district. This ore was discovered in a drift which the company was driving to ' develop the ground on the 825 level of the mine. H. T. Holdaway, superintendent of this property, took samples of the ore to the main office of tne company at i Provo. The extent of this ore will not be known until the ground has beeu thoroughly developed. |
