Show M I W STRIKE NUY BE IMPDRTAMT Open Good Grade of Ore That Is Making in Bedding Bed-ding Plane. What may become with further development de-velopment a very important strike has been made on the New Quincy. property located in the Park City district, according ac-cording to M. M. Johnson, mining engineer, engi-neer, who has returned from making an examination of the property for the New Quincy Mining company. The ore body is apparently making in a bedding plane and is of the same character, and aa far as it has been developed it is occuring in the same manner as other large ore bodies that have been opened in other properties throughout the district. The ore body was encountered in driving driv-ing a raise up on an east-west fissure at a point about 600 feet west of the east face and about 175 feet above the 900-foot level of what is also called the I)nlj--West level. The raise penetrated the ore body occuring in what appears to be a bedding of limestone. Up to the time Mr. Johnsqn left the property the ore body was five feet thick. This is not the entire thickness of the body, however, as the ore still shows strong in the roof of the raise. It haB been drifted on to the northwest for a distance dis-tance of about six feet, with the ore body continuing strong toward the northwest, north-west, the northeast and the southwest. It has also been drifted on from six to eight feet to the northeast. It occurs in the vicinity of a porphyry dike, which is said to be a very good indication. Samples Sam-ples taken by Superintendent P. P. Harrington of "the various faces of ore exposed returned 6 per cent in lead and 31 ounces iu silver to the ton. A campaign of development work has been outlined with a view of determining determin-ing the extent of the ore body. In case it develops in a satisfactory manner drifting from the intermediate level will be continued and other raises will be driven to cut the ore body and open it at other points |
