Mr. Moyle and Professor R. H. Bra ford declared their opposition to b Judd holding both offices. They said thi would be glad to vote for him as cl$r but not as purchasing agent. Mr. M pointed out that it was not good buaine for the clerk to check and handle h own accounts as purchasing agent. Son other check should be provided, he sal Mr. Bradford was of the same opinion. A. D. McMullin, who was chiefly n sponsible for the creation of the offi of purchasing agent two years ago, di ciared in favor of the present arran raent, explaining that the saving made i a result of tbe purchasing agent innovj tlon would hardly Justify the paying of separate salary. S. A- Whitney was re-elected treasun for the' board under the same arrant ment as prevailed in the past, narael that he will carry the board's overdraw at 4 per cent and will pay 2 per cent o the cash balances and will act wlthoi salary, furnishing bond without cost t the board. IJugh W. Dougall was chosen as 6u pervisor of music in the public schools o recommendation of the committee o teachers and school work. He will s& sume office at the beginning of the 8tc ond semester. His salary was fixed a $1300. J. C- Howard, the new member fror tbe First precinct, questioned the ate quacy of the salary, declaring that he di not believe a competent music supervise could afford to devote his entire time fo that amount. He insisted that the super visor should devote all his time to tii work. George F. New Members Attend. George M. Sullivan and K. H. Bradford Brad-ford were elected members of the Teasers Teas-ers Retirement commission in accordant with the law which provides that tv members of the board shall be member: of the commission. The meeting was the first to be attended attend-ed bv the newly elected members, Mr Waason and Mr. Howard. Mr. Bradford, Dr. F. S. Bascom and W. J.
