OGDEN Jan. 12 Largely through the development work of tne nattonal forest service In the building of roads through the reserves most of the towns in south ern Utah ha e been given the benefit of au omobl e access during recent years ac cord ng to the eports fl ed in the Fourth d strict headquarters here. Road build ng in Ltah forests Is one of the most helpful as we 1 as succe sful projects un dertaken by the government, in the opin ion of Superv sor George 1L Barney of Egcalante who is in Ogden at the pres ent time for two weeks work at the headquarters. Concerning the road work of the gov ernment and some of the principal proj ects Supervisor Barney says In the past two years about J30M has been expended by the forest service and to good advantage on the road o er the' Sweetwater divide by way of Winder be tween Pangultch, the county seat of Gar fie d county and Escalante futy miles east, ibout t 000 more will be expended in the spring This road which w be come a link In the state hlghwaj crosses the western wing of the Powell forest for about fifteen m lee entering it about a mi e east of Winder and ascending to Sweetwater canyon "In the past two or three years tne state has turnp ked and o her se Improved the h ghway between Marvs ale and Pan gultch.
