Show CELLAR IS 1 PLACE, i FOB OGDJLFAIS SAY Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, May 16. Will Ogden drop out of tho Union association or will it have a. club which will class with the best in the 1012 pennant race? That Is a question which probably will bo answered at a masB meeting of the business men In the Weber club rooms next Monday evening. The plan is a stock company proposition with enough money behind it to give the city a Union association club which will not stay at the bottom of the list. Realizing that baacball cannot survive sur-vive with a club in Its present condition, fifteen business men held a consultation at the Webor club this afternoon to discuss dis-cuss seme plan of boosting the game. The favorable sentiment toward the organization organi-zation of a stock company prompted those present to call a mans meeting for Monday Mon-day evening. Before that time the Weber club will preparo a circular letter, a copy of which will bo mailed to every .business man In Ogdcn, regardless of whether ho Is or Is not a member of the commercial com-mercial organization. If the plan Is carried car-ried out Manager McCloskcy will proceed pro-ceed to strengthen his elub in a manner which will make the other managers lake notice. There Is little danger of Ogden or any I other Union league club dropping out. j because every club bus 31000 posted with I President Lucas as a guaranty It will finish tho season. If Ogden business men give McCloskcy half a chance he will havo a winning team, but If they decide the city cannot support a baseball team, no doubt the franchise could be sold al a profit. |
