Show FOREST FIRES ARE NOT BEYOND CONTROL SEATTLE. May 16. There Is nothing alarming today In tho western "Washington "Washing-ton forest fire situation, according to Chief Fire Warden J. L. Bridge of the Washington Forest Fire association. There arc many fires, but not one Is beyond be-yond control. Five 3aw mills and many logging camps In Skagit. Snohomish. King, Pierce and Chehalls counties have ben destroyed. The tires which caused the loss of seven lives between Hamilton and BIrdsvlcw, Skagit county, have traveled trav-eled Into the green timber, but are said to be burning along the ground. The worst fires broke out In loggers' slashings. slash-ings. United States forest officials said the fires In tho national forests are unimportant. |
