Sheldon, Shel-don, treasurer of the Republican national committee, commenting today upon the publication of correspondence between himself and Theodore Roosevelt relative to the llarrlman campaign contribution in 100 i, and alluding particularly to ills own letter to the. colonel, said It was written at Colonel Roosevelt's request. Mr. Sheldon took exception to the inference in-ference that publication of the. correspondence corre-spondence at this time Indicated thut tho colonel was a candidate for the 1312 presidential nomination. "Colonel Roosevelt has not told me that he Is a candidate." Mr. Sheldon said. "On tho contrary, lie has told mc repeatedly that ho Is not a candidate. "Colonel Roosevelt and myself were aboard a train together some ten days ago and this matter came up in conversation conver-sation from something in the newspapers. I said.
