Ho has about ten or fifteen acres' of celery, west of town, which will soon bo ready for market, and as many more acres of onions, all of which will be shipped away In car load lots. Ho has six acres of onions on the Thomas Gleason farm on tho State road, which aro Just now being harvested har-vested Tho six acres will yield over 1,500 sacks of 125 pounds each, nnd are worth $1.25 per sack. This mnkes tho six acre crop worth $1,875. Besides Be-sides this Mr. Roylanco has growing on tho Bnrao farm, thrco acres of pnr-snlps pnr-snlps and n half ncro of toblo beets, and on the entire tract he has expended ex-pended up to date less than $G00 for hired help, seed and rent of ground. The ground on which tho onions wcro grown was plowed deep lasj fall. It was glvon a good coat of manure enrly this Bprlng, and then double disked. It was harrowed sov-eral sov-eral times thoroughly, pulverized and leveled till tho tract looked llko 0 garden. The seed was planted 20 to tho foot In rows 12 Inches apart, the work being dono with a hand drill. About half of tho seeds enmo up, bo that no hand thinning was necessary. Tho field was cultivated three times during tho summer with hand cultivators, culti-vators, six boys being kept' lu the patch most of tho time. Ac tho water Is but two feet from tho surface, lr. rlgatlon wns needed but once, and then a furrow was mado ovory tenth row, tho balanco being subbed.
