Show fair notes the fair opens on wednesday october 2 at 12 noon all articles should be entered and brought to the fair grounds if possible as early as monday september 30 and no article will be admitted after tuesday october 1 at 6 excepting flowers and live stock which aro allowed up to 11 am of the day of opening no entry fee is charged for exhibits but before making entry a ticket of annual membership costing 3 aul wul entitle a person to admission to all parts of the grounds and make any number of entries the regular admission is 25 cents children under 12 years 10 cents the railroads have made special rates to exhibitors and for the transportation por tation of exhibits the same as are usually made elsewhere on such occasions ca viz the full rate is charged to the fair and no charge is made on return trip horses cattle sheep and swine brought to the territory before april 2 last are eligible to compete for any premium offered by the society the awarding judges have responded to their appointments very generally and indicate they are gratified to bo chosen ball the caterer has nearly completed his monster refreshment booth on the south side of the building the stalls which are being built of fine surfaced lumber and intended to bo permanent are nearly completed and show good workmanship the poultry pens will be carefully looked after so that owners of fine fowls need not hesitate in bringing them to the fair it is presumed out of town members of the board will come to town a few daay before the fair to assist in the preparations the opening exercises are not yet wholly arranged but will be announced in a few days T 0 dark who was sentenced to fifteen months imprisonment for housebreaking last may has been pardoned by the governor on the re of a large number of citizens of davis county it having been alleged that his family was in a destitute condition and needed his support no ill was ever known of him previous to the crime of which he wag convicted which it is said ho committed to se jure food and wearing apparel for his needy family there are several ladies who left richfield within the last week for provo where they have been summoned on charges of fornication with their husbands amon whom were mrs martha mra R gurr mrs bent anderson mrs hans christensen mrs maggie brandly and several others whose names we failed tog fit advocate |
