R. R. Crampton of Reno, owner of the machine, was driving near that city whon he failed to negotiate a dangerous mountain moun-tain turn. Tho car turned over several times after leaving tho cliff, tlnally landing land-ing with the wheels uppermost. With asststanco It was turned right side up nnd lifted to the top of tho cliff, the wheels having almost miraculously escaped es-caped damage. Preparations were made to tow the wreck back to Reno, when some ono suggested sug-gested cranking tho engine as an experiment. experi-ment. To the surprise of all It started smoothly. After sufficient wroclcago had been cleared away to make room for a driver, the machine was piloted back to Reno under Its owii power. The run to tho city was mnde without accident. |
