Show Commencement Exercises at Provo of the Brigham Young University Special to The Tribune. PROVO, June A. Commencement exercises exer-cises of tho. Brigham Young university wore held In the stake tabernacle here today. The students and faculty marched from the university, headed by the B Y. U. band and carrying the university colors and class banners. A. large number num-ber of visitors were present. The exercises opened by the audience singing the college song, led by Prof. A. C. Lund. President George H. Brlmhall then read a comprehensive report of tlv progress of the school. Among other things, he said: "The faculty this year has been composed of thirty professors, ten assistant assist-ant professors, twenty-six Instructors and thirteen assistants, making a total of scvcntv-nlne. Of these, twenty-two have given only part lime. The total enrollment enroll-ment of students has ccn 1170, registered regis-tered as follows: Training school, 217; preparatory school. 120; secondary schools first vear, AA'.: second year, 264: third vear. ISO: fourth year. 37; college, 119; total. 1170. "While the increase in local high schools has affected us in a measure in the attendance of the secondary schools. It is with satisfaction that we note a 100 per cent Increase In the college. "Of the above enrollment, L'tah has furnished 1353; other states and territories terri-tories In the union, SG: Mexico. 6: Canada, 22; Samoa, 1; New Zealand, 1; Japan, 1." George Christensen of the graduates delivered tho commencement oration. He spoke of the establishment of the church school svstcm. which was to create faith in God "among the students as well as leach more material things to which the education of the present day is lending.
