again last night the mayor beine absent mr alexander was called to the chair besides the mayor there were absent driggs hordaway Hof daway and bean after the reading of the minutes mr dunn reported that the committee and city attorney to whom was resubmitted the licence bill recommend mi a number of amendments to the he raid the committee recommended that with the adoption of these amendments the bill pass alie report was accepted and the council proceeded to the third reading of the bill the first recommendation of the committe that the word that on first line of section two be stricken out was adopted the second recommendation that the word city council be stricken out in line 13 section 2 and the worda mayor of alie city be substituted waa then discussed the mayor came in hero and took the clifair mr alexander stepping down and resuming his seat on the floor the second recommendation was on motion of mr dunn adopted mr dunn moved to strike out the word aAll persons and insert in lieu thereof any person in line 1 section 13 tho motion carried on motion of mr dunn the words equally and as principal in line 3 section 13 were stricken out mr dunn moved that alie words fine or turkey some people might desire to manifest their thankfulness by indulgence in a glass of whisky and therefore he did not favor closing up on thanksgiving day the motion of mr daniels was adopted mr by ita title mr maiben asked the privilege for mr sim duggins to address the council mr talmage objected stating that if mr duggins had any communication to make he could do so in his petition or application for license resignation of alderman driggs was presented and on motion accepted mr dunn moved that the license for retail liquor selling be 1000 per annum mr maiben remarked that mr hines had told him he was willing to take out a license for 1000 per annum but an injustice might bo dona him by gome one coming in and taking out a license for three months or during the ames court was in
