Throe people wero drowned and two others narrowly escaped a likefate tonight when an automobile In which the live were riding plunged Into the open draw of the Rush sired bridge, crossing tho Chicago river. The accident occurred at the north end of the bridge, where there is an upward fclope of 2ao feet before the end of the bridge or the ede of the draw is reached This slope is so steep that It has not been necessary to stretch chains across tho roadway, as Is done ,-tt a number of other bridges for the reason thai It would lie almost Impossible for a vehicle to slide over the edge Into the river.
