Show BEAVER LAKE DISTRICT Further Account of the Operations Under Way There and of the Year After a long reason of Inactivity the Beaver Lake mining district Is waking up and general activity in all the properties Is noticeable throughout the camp The Copper Mountain mine upon which nothing has bten done but assessment as-sessment work for two years is now being operated by C H Smith under bond and lease dud at the present lime the incline shaft has attained a depth of 200 out The mine Is looking extremely well The vein Is strong and continuous and carries an average value of 5 per cent copper six ounces silver and a small percentage of gold It is the Intention of the parties hold lug the bond to sink to a depth of 400 feet when drifting and crosscutting will commence The Beaver Jake mine Is now being operated with a force of four men at work The operations are being directed direct-ed on the old Incline shaft which has now attained a depth of K feet and carries values of 7 par cent copper six ounces of silver and L20 sold across the vein An assessment of V cent a share was recently levied to properly equip the mine for constant develop bent The Slrylark property which Is held under a bond by a Boston syndicate represented by T Burton Everett at the present time Is looking splendid The tunnel being directed to cut the Incline vein at 125 feet encountered the vein the early part of this week This vein Is four feet wide and carries an > reragc of S per cent copper six ounces silver and GO cents gold per ton The company bus determined to equip the properly with a modern hoist and will sink on this v iin to a depth of 100 fi4 > t This proplny ronsJsts of eight full claims Thft main vein upon which urk Is now belUK directed croi > son s-on thf surface for SiHW f < yt An enor jnous Iron blovoUt exlsta on the stir fare of the Oi Tlija lulm and in thir ty feet In width Shi > invntn uf this Iron weiv made to the Mllford and Frisco snuUorti lu the early days This Immcnse body carries IV per cent cop per six ounces silver and 5120 gold throughout t The O K Extension Mining and Re duction company a property so located lo-cated as to Include within its borders Hie i famous p K mine owned by Al J len G Campbell which was recently Incorporated have equipped their property prop-erty for permanent development TheO The-O K vein traverses this property for 1200 feet A shaft IUIH been commenced and Jo at present twentythree feet deep An assay across the vein which IH six feet wide give us a result 11 per cent copper four ounces silver and li cents gold This properly consists of seven full claims all heavily mineralized mineral-ized and with the amount of development develop-ment work makes a magnificent show Ing This Is a strong company with I plenty of cash in the treasury Sinking j will be continued to 300 feet when drifting and crosscutting will bo com nieneed I I The Beaver Lake mining district would long ago have been one of the famous producing districts of the Slate of Utah had It been possessed of the advantage of cheap reduction of Its ores It Is now an assured fact that reduction works for the treatment of both high and lowgrade ores of the district are to be erected at an early date It is understood that these works are to be built solely for the treatment of the ores of the Skylark mine as they have extensive ore bodies to work upon but It Is probable that should the neonle holdlntr the Skylark property build a plant for their use If successful success-ful other plants will follow at all events the SUCCVHS of one enterprise In the treatment of Its own productions will be HUfllelent to Induce other capital capi-tal to go Into the district It Is not known what mothod will bo used In the reduction of these ores As near as can be ascertained it Is by a process controlled by T Burton Everett Ever-ett of Boston Mass and one which has been commercially tested by him and his agents of late upon the Beaver Lake ores and to their entire satisfaction satisfac-tion Mr Everett has been here In person and has positively stated that reduction works will be erected within the next ninety days Mr Everett IB building works In other sections of the State and has produced already some considerable copper from very low grade ores at a profit and also extracted extract-ed the gold and silver values turning the whole product out In a refined form The process Is one that is now given to the public and the public is not asked to contribute any money for Its advancement which goes a great deal toward proving lo those who have heard of It that It Is not a scheme because be-cause Mr Everett himself takes all risk |
