Show ENGINEERS ENTER UTAH Burlington Party at Wyoming State Line SURVEYS BEING PUSHED Have Been Camped at Evanston and Bunning Preliminaries to Secure Good Entrance to This State Through Echo With Lines Diverging Diverg-ing to Ogden and Salt Lake Statement State-ment That Cannot Be Denied Central Cen-tral Pacific Meetings Rio Grando Western Dividend Notcc Tho Burlington surveyors have entered I j tered Utah This is one statement the Burlington cannot and will not deny From time to time during the last few I years statements havo been made and denied about the Burlington coming to Utah It has been the most Interesting topic of local circles for the last year as notwithstanding the denials It was known that the great system had Its ores upon this State For some time the party of surveyors was camped near Evanston which is in the extreme southwest corner of Wyoming The party is made up of ofghteen men with a fine outfit and Js J under the charge of Henry Dcyo It la working under orders of the chief engineer of the Burlington Missouri River railroad In Nebraska which as everybody knows is tho Western portion por-tion of the Burlington system Deyos party has been out since last October and will be In the Held for I several months yet probably arriving at Salt Lake very soon Lines crossing the Utah boundary are being run both above and below the Union Pacific Il being the probable proba-ble Intention to use Echo canyon From Echo reconnolsancec wiil be made for lines to Ogden and Salt Lake Surveys have been run from the lines in eastern Wyoming and have been largely topographical It being the evident evi-dent aim of the company to pick out the shortest and best transcontinental route Preliminary surveys do not mean that a road will be built but the positive posi-tive fact that the Burlington surveyors are at the threshold of the State can at least be taken as an Indication that the big system has In mind a Utah I line The news of the presence of tho surveyors will be heard with interest by all |
