Show OLD FOLKS ENTERTAINED I GERMAN MORMONS HAVE AN OUTING AT THE LAKE Eighty Elderly People were tho Guests of Honor Taken Out Free and Given a Dinner IAn I-An excursion by about 600 German Mormons under the management of PIt P-IT Cons Herman Grelher and Hen Roistr was made to Saltalr yesterday Following a custom established a year ago the party took along as especial guests some eighty old and infirm people peo-ple of th2ir own nationality These guests of honor were not only furnished fur-nished with transportation but were given an excellent dinner after which there was distributed among them f number of useful presents which had been donated by the merchants of the city These presents consisted of shawls shoos handkerchiefs and other articles of dress and were highly ap preciated by the recipients Dinner wns served In the pavIlion at 1 oclock and the wants of the eighty old people ple were looked after by twentyflight volunteer waiters Afterward there was sInging In German by a choir un der the leadership of Carl Kropf Misses Lena Hoffman Rosa Hoffman and Catherine Keller sang a number of Swiss songs and a male chorus un del the supervision of Adolph Brox added to tho entertainment The sing Ing was followed by a series ofi races for children to whom a number of I prizes wore given In the evening the young folks danced and the older ones visited nnd looked after the comfort of their visitors the old people and all of them passed a most enjoyable day Resort Notes The choir children of St Mary cathe dral wlgo to Lagoon on Saturday as the guests of a Bishop Scanlan The council of the third quorum of seventy will hold a social reunion at Saltalr on the 7th Inst The Seventeenth Seven-teenth ward Sundayschool will have an excursion to Saltalr on the same day o 0 air The today Tabernacle choir will own Salt |
