billtles vegetable decoration were a l revelation ahcl many were the Hatter Ing comments made upon the artistic manner in which the rooms were bpau tiled with vegetables Tn the parlor long strings of peas in the pod and quantities of asparagus fern wore used while here and there were cucumbers onions potatoes turnips etc the pulp taken out and fled with sand and these used as flower vases and very pretty ones they made too Large ouquets of vegetables were also used The diningroom was decorated In much the same way the small vegetables vege-tables filled with flowers forming the decorations An enjoyable feature of the afternoon was the contest in vegetables vege-tables Each guest was Invited to hring a bouquet of vegetables and some of them were surprisingly pretty The first prize in this contest was awarded I to Mrs L L Downing the second to I Mrs Boyd and the third to Mrs C O King A vegetable guessing game was another Interesting feature the prizes I going to Mrs Henderson and Mrs
