Show NOT A DEAD ONE Fitzsimmons Knocks Dunkhorst Out in Second Round New York April 30At the Hercules Hercu-les Athletic club tonight Bob Fitzsim mons proved that ho Is far from being be-ing a dead one In less than two rounds he knocked out Ed Dunkhorst the Syracuse giant a feat which other oth-er and bigger men found impossible Fitzsimmons showed that his wonderful wonder-ful hitting powers have not forsaken him and was as lively on his feet as over but had little time in which to display the fact The bout was booked to go twenty rounds Fitzsimmons was cheered lustily when he entered the ring The attendance exceeded ICCO Dunkhorst was attended by Tommy Ryan Jack Jeffries and Dan Johnson The lanky fellow was looked alter by Ernest Roeber Jeff Thome and Dan Hickey Dunkhorst looked to weigh 2GO pounds and was very fat Bob looked fit and weighed about 170 pounds When they shook hands It was seen that Dunkhorst was the taller by at least two Inches As the bell rang Dunkhorst assumed a crouching position posi-tion Fltxsimmons walked around him for a brief second and hooked a left that raised a lump under T5ds right eye He landed another of the same kind si second later and then droyo his left hard 4to the wind and ducked a right awing for the head Duckhorst landed a light left to the face and Fitvslmmrns closed the round with left and right to the body Dunkhorst opened the second round with a left to the face and Bob hookml his left to the Jaw and ducked Eds return Fitslmmons took another jab on the mouth but only smiled and ripped right and left to the stomach Two more lefts to the stomach followed fol-lowed by a right made the giant wobble wob-ble Fllzslnunons measured him coolly cool-ly and then hooked hiB left Hush to the mark und Dunkhorst went to the lioor with a cranh It was fully a minute min-ute before his seconds could raise him to bin feet and meanwhile Fltsslm moiiH was cheered wildly by the crowd TIme of round two minutes twenty live seconds |
