Show 1 FOURTH PRECINCT I Tie in One District Settled by Vote S of Whole House I The Fourth precinct meeting was 1 largely attended and equally enthusiastic enthusi-astic Chairman Hough ton opened the meeting and Miss Susie Harper acted as temporary secretary reading the call For permanent officers Arthur Brown was elected chairman and Miss Harper secretary The vote for delegates dele-gates followed a short speech by the chairman urging the selection of a good judicial ticket the procedure being for each of the voting districts to name one delegate and four to be elected at large to make up the apportionment of eleven The result of the district selections was a follows Thirtyseventh James T Hammond Thirtyeighth George N Lawrence Thirtyninth passed Fortieth For-tieth John T Axton Fortyfirst T W Whileley Fortysecond John E Houghton Fortythird W R Hutch inson In Thirtyninth district there was a split between factions and as Frank Hoffman would not vote for himself It was a tie two for him and two for Scott Wells The matter being given to the house to decide by vote Wells was elected 40 to 21 For delcgntesatlarge T E Harper Har-per J M Bowman Arthur Brown and Mrs Hines were elected The alternates alter-nates are Frank Hoffman Judge Street Mrs E M Miller Howard King and H C Edwards |
