Show CHILDRENS CHOIR ENTERTAINS Highly Pleasing Musicale in Honor of Rev Father Kicly The childrens choir of St Marys cathedral unbcr the direction of Miss Nora Glcuson gave a highly pleasing musicale nt the New Grand Theater lust evening In honor of Rev Father Klely thc director of the Sunday j school i The lower floor of thc theater was comfortably llllo l and tht fact that the audience remained throughout the programme despite the fact that It was oppressively warm attested thc high character of the performance The entrance march was one of the prettiest features of the programme It was participated In by all the members mem-bers of the choir who were dressed In pure white and carried American ilags Graceful steps and weaving of the flags made a pretty picture Indeed I America the opening song by the choir vas followed by n graceful welcome wel-come to the guest of honor Father Klely bj little Miss Kathleen Mc Coocy This was followed by a piano duet by the Misses Alice raid Nellie lleilley it reading The Bootblack by Miss Helen Carter and the OhooChoo song and The Owl song by the Misses Metras McCarthy ORou rIce Jones Armour Brooks Berkhoel and Stevens all of which numbers were very heartily received Miss Huldadrosc Brown recited re-cited An Episode very pleasingly and then Miss Cora Cameron gave the original Irish breakdown in a way that simply brought down the house Later In the evening Miss Cameron danced thc original hornpipe of 17150 and was obliged to respond to an encore en-core A piano solo by Miss Florence Graham Gra-ham was well rendered as was the hit Lullaby Song by thc Misses Frances Litter Clara Dwyer Jane Ley land and thc choir In the recitation Tararaboomdc aye Miss Margery Mulvey fairly cap tivated the audlonco and showed unusual un-usual talent as a reader for one so young Kissing Nealh the Stars was the subject of a pretty song and dance by Miss Mary Ilalloran and Master Ruel Halloran Mummys Colored Coon by Miss Margaret Fitzgerald and the little ones was very taking Thc Song My Mother Sang to Me wag well given by Miss Clara Fafek who possesses pos-sesses a sweet soprano voice Thc hymn A Fountain of Sweetness by several of the larger members of the choir with the Misses Dell Graham Collins and Free as soloists and thc chorus Fleeting Days by the choir were also creditable numbers of the entertainment |
