Show PETTY THEFTS IN BATHROOMS I I I Numerous Losses Reported by Bathers of Money and Valuables Left in Their Clothing on Going Into the Brine at Saltair S Numerous petty thefts nave been reported S re-ported from Saltair of late but inS In-S every case the robberies have occurred In the bathhouses the victims having disregarded the warning of the management I I agement to check all valuables at tho office Dick Gray of the Southern Pacific Pa-cific was robbed of a considerable sum of money and some valuable Jewelry Saturday night Three men wore arrested ar-rested on suspicion of having committed com-mitted the robbery but as no one appeared ap-peared against them yesterday they were discharged from custody On I the iamc night that Mr Gray was robbed two wellknown younG men about town were touched not the first time this happened to them cither I They took a bath leaving several dollars dol-lars which strangely enough they happened hap-pened to have In their respective bathhouses bath-houses On emerging from the water i they discovered that their change was missing but each thought the other was getting funny with him both being be-ing Jolliers Learning of other thefts they compared notes yesterday and discovered they were out some dol I I I i lars Col Theodore Bruback was another an-other bathhouse victims Thcr thieves I went through his clothes and took out all the money carefully and thoughtfully J thought-fully replacing his keys and a couple of pocketpieces the Colonel carries Mrs lred Palmer of this city accompanied I ac-companied by a lady friends from the East visited the lake on Friday evening even-ing and checked most of their valuables I valu-ables at the office but Mrs Palmers I friend did not think it necessary to remove re-move a pair of beautiful gold sleeve buttons she wore Some moce thoughtful 1 thought-ful person wished to save her the trouble apparently and entering the bathroom while the ladles were In the I water took the buttons Mr Palmer I with a party of lends visited the lake again Saturday evening and while they were In the water a sweaklhleC entered all their bathrooms ran I sacked all the clothing and carried 1 oft all the loose change amounting to about two dollars all but the small I change having boon left In the office The losses have been reported to the management but as the management I expressly I disclaims all responsibility for losses In bathrooms It Is doubtful I If the resort company can be hold In any way responsible for the thieving I |
