Mr. Blaylock said the training courses will be held during the! only at the executive level but also at the patrolmen and detectives de-tectives who must make "on the spot" decisions involving the legality of their searches and seizures. The FBI pointed out .that the specialized training schools are part of the regular police train-1 ing- program and are necessary because of recent Supreme Court decisions that evidence seized by officers of state, county and local jurisdiction by procedures violating vio-lating the federal constitutional standards cannot be admitted in any court, either local or federal. The constitutional requirements of the federal law on searches and seizures must henceforth be observed by the states. Mr. Blaylock added that a similar school has been scheduled sched-uled at the Salt Lake City Police Po-lice Department for January 24 and 25. x |
