Show Utah Would Receive $47.5 Million Under Road Plans Federal Highway Administrator Administra-tor Rex M. Whitton has urged the House Public Works Subcommittee Sub-committee on Roads to approve an authorization bill under which Utah would receive $47,-511,900 $47,-511,900 during each of two fiscal years for three Federal-aid highway high-way programs, Senator Frank E. Moss (D-Utah) has announced. That amount would be allocated allocat-ed this summer for fiscal year 1964 (beginning July 1, 1963), and a like amount next summer for fiscal year 1965 (beginning July 1, 1964), Moss said. The division would be as follows: fol-lows: 1. For the Interstate Highway System $37,537,000. Ninety-five per cent of the cost of this system sys-tem is paid by the Federal government gov-ernment from the Interstate Highway Trust Fund. 2. For the ABC road system (primary, secondary, and urban highways) $8,879,000. The Federal Fed-eral government pays at least 50 per cent of the cost of this program, but the actual percentage percent-age varies depending upon the area of reserved and unreserved public domain lands and nontaxable non-taxable Indian lands in relation to the total area of the State. In Utah, 77.62 is the percentage of this program which could be financed fi-nanced from Federal funds. 3. For the Forest Highway Program Pro-gram $1,095,900. This is hundred C7 j - 1 per cent Federal money. It is spent on roads which are part of the forest highway system and are located within or adjacent to the National Forests. The Subcommittee Sub-committee authorized $950,000,-000 $950,000,-000 to be spent nationwide on the Interstate Highway System during dur-ing the fiscal year 1964, Moss said. , Senator Moss is a member of the Senate ' Public Works Committee.
