The voting district mass meetings meet-ings will be held from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will elect the delegate or delegates to the county convention con-vention and the voting district officers, consisting of a chairman, chair-man, vice chairman of the opposite oppo-site sex, a secretary-treasurer, and three or more committee members. The county convention will elect the delegates to the state convention. Past practice of the Democratic party has been for the county convention to name its delegates to the state convention conven-tion delegates. STEPHEN P. SMOOT Feb. 19 was officially set this week as the date for Democratic party voting district mass meetings. meet-ings. The date was set by the Salt Lake County Democratic Central Committee. The Feb. 19 date was recommended recom-mended by the state central committees of both Democratic and Republican parties. The Democratic Central Committee Com-mittee also set March 7 as the date for the county organizational organiza-tional convention and apportioned appor-tioned delegates to the county convention. The delegate apportionment will result in the county having the same number of delegates to the county convention as it has been allocated for the state convention con-vention 552, according to the County Chairman, Stephen P. Smoot. He said each of the 408 voting districts will have a minimum of one delegate, the excess of 144 being distributed on a basis of one for each 229 votes cast in |
